Hillingdon Homes' Board of Directors consists of 15 Directors comprising five tenant/leaseholders of the London Borough of Hillingdon, five Directors who are Councillors of the London Borough of Hillingdon and five independent Directors.
The Board's central role is to direct and lead the company. To fulfil this role, the Board determines the company's strategy, sets its vision and objectives. The Board also defines the company's core values as well as its ethical values.
The Board provides leadership at a strategic level. Daily management of the company is delegated to the Chief Executive Officer. The Board has overall responsibility for the way the company is managed including ensuring that the company conducts its business lawfully.
Directors are collectively responsible for decisions made by the Board and are bound by such decisions.
The company's Board members come from many different walks of life. This brings a wide range of experience and knowledge to the Board thereby bolstering the Board's ability to direct and lead the company.
Council Board members are drawn from London Borough of Hillingdon Councillors. Nominations for the Board come from the Council.
Tenant/leaseholder Board members are either tenants or leaseholders of the London Borough of Hillingdon. They are selected from short listed applicants after interviewing.
Independent Board members are drawn from a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Independent Board members do not have to live within the borough.
The Board is responsible for the company's corporate governance and is accountable to the shareholder for the company's business activities.
Company Secretary
The Company Secretary is responsible to the Board and is the Secretary for all the Board Committees. Individual directors have access to the Company Secretary for advice on board procedures.
