Streets Ahead ~ Week of Action events build upon the successful Streets Ahead days that have become firmly established during 07/08. It is recognised that by working in localities the authority and partners can deliver a more significant event which would enable the involvement of additional services, partners and community groups and thus reach out to more residents.
Objectives
- Increase residents satisfaction levels concerning the services delivered by the council and strategic partners.
- To provide a "vehicle" for partnership working between key LSP members, e.g. Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Fire Service, Hillingdon Homes, plus others such as Age Concern, DVLA, and all council services.
- Provide increased opportunities for older people to participate in leisure, recreation, and cultural activities.
- Promote civic pride via improvements in local environmental quality.
- Encourage the take up of sporting, leisure and cultural activities by children and young people
- Help to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti social behaviour by taking action to enforce the greener, cleaner, safer agenda.
- Demonstrate a modern well managed council delivering excellent services
