The new Townfield Community Centre opens its doors on Saturday 23rd January. Join us for the opening day party from 12noon until 4pm to mark this special occasion and find out what the fuss is all about.
The building's finished, the walls are painted, the furniture's in and the sign's going up. The waiting is over - all that's missing now is customers!
Come and have a look around the centre and find out about the new facilities that you can use. Check out the internet cafe with a free tea or coffee and a chance to try out the computers and get online for free.
- Find out about the week of free activity 'taster sessions' taking place at the centre from Monday 25th January.
- Discover what we learnt about the history of the building and the Townfield area while we rebuilt the centre and find out how your memories can add to our history archive.
- Hear about the helpful services that Age Concern will run from the centre to make life easier for older people.
- Bring along unwanted Christmas presents and swap them for someone else's at our Swap Shop.
- Find out what happened to the kids' hand imprints that we made at the community day last summer.
- Help us to celebrate the centre's birthday along with a local lady who shares the special date.
There will be fun activities for all ages and it will also be a great chance to meet Julie, the new centre manager. She'll be able to tell you how you can hire rooms in the centre for children's birthday parties, meetings and groups. For more information call 01895 556289.
